Yes. You read correctly. MALDIVES; Paradise island. XD
P.s. Every picture in this blog post is taken by my family members; Annabel, Aunt Vickie and Uncle Leonard, or me.
It was beautiful; something different. Its hard to describe its beauty but the water, the environment and the sights are not your everyday view. Think of something beautiful, that multiplied by twenty times at least. Maldives was gorgeous.
Maldives is called Male [Ma-ley], and Male is made of small islands put together. I spend 5 days on a small island in male called Bandos, the adults chose it for its in house reef.
Meaning, when one wakes up in the morning, open the curtains and feel that its a great weather for a snorkel, would just open the door and walk out of the chalet like hotel facing the sea. The second he goes down to snorkel in that sea, there would be corals after corals and the marine animals waiting to play catching with you. That's an in house reef.
An offshore reef may look more spectacular but not as convenient as an in house reef; you need to book a boat to take you to parts of the sea to see its treasures beneath.
It was a really very short 5days trip to Maldives and I enjoyed it a lot. If I was to live there forever, the habits, lifestyles and physic effects is miraculous. Imagine having a life where everyday that is a certain activity planned and you can choose whether or not to go for it as it was not mandatory. Activities like parasailing, water skiing, offshore snorkeling, diving, dolphin watching, whale submarine and a lot more. Its ok if you do not feel like doing any, because the moment you open the chalet door, its a sea. A vast blue clear clean sea with corals, anemones and the different variety of marine life living in it. I fell in love the moment I step foot on the airport.
Till now, I still feel that the experience was a dream. Those drops of sweat did not matter, the plane the boat, it all just adds on to the dream. It is so much more than just a paradise.
Honestly, I went snorkeling everyday there. I love the sea, the life that it breeds and the beauty of the place. It remains a wow.
To those people that is expecting a souvenir from me, you are going to face disappointment. Beauty and love both have prices and it ain't cheap. Trust me. The only thing that free there is the stuff you brought in your baggage and luggage. A 1.5l bottle of mineral water costs...? Take a guess.
Answer, 4.00usd.
Yikes, Welcome to Reality.
But for those who are close enough to be considerable thick-skinned around me can ask me for the stuff I found while snorkeling. Which consists of dead corals and seashells. Okay, I know it is not much but it is still something to remember by. Memories. I guess I am going to create something with it; I have Jars and most DIY items. Who knows, it may turn out to be something quite beautiful. :)
Let the photo spam begin:
